About Afsan Azadi
Afsan Azadi is a new writer in the community of Iranian writers. He has been
writing for several decades, and now has decided to publish his work, The Short
Stories of Azadi. He was born in Iran, where, in his teens, he wrote many stories
for the school publication, and also as a guest contributor for some weekly
magazines.
Before the revolution, Afsan moved to the United States, where he still resides. In
the United States, he pursued his education and continued writing. He studied
anthropology, sociology, ethnic studies, French and Spanish languages and
cultures. But he received his highest achievement in obtaining his degree in
Master of Arts in women’s studies with a special focus on feminism and the status
of Iranian women and the issue of hijab.
