The first book published by Afsan Azadi is entitled The Short Stories of Azadi. The book
is the first one of a series of several books entitled The Short Stories of Azadi, including
different stories. The second book of this series is projected to reach the market in
June of 2005. Each volume will contain ten short stories, focusing on different incidents
or events in relation to the Iranian culture, involving different individuals, settings, and
outcomes. Some of the stories are tragic and heart wrenching and some comical and
funny. But, in the end, all of the stories relay their message. All of the stories attempt
to demonstrate the richness of our culture, while revealing its limited flaws.   

Afsan Azadi’s short stories relate to many issues that entangle the characters in
unwanted and unexpected situtations, which take the reader on a tragic or comical
journey. He tends to penetrate into the core of the Persian/Iranian culture to explore
and unearth its eloquent components of richness and humanity, and its promising
potential for survival, improvement, and progress.
